At a wood-based panel factory, repeated patch repairs on the same area of the steel belt failed to achieve a satisfactory result. Subsequent flatness measurement revealed severe deformation of the belt; its deformation parameters far exceeded the allowable limits.
Solution: The entire endless steel belt was subjected to shot peening. This reduces the risk of poor patch welding performance caused by large-area deformation, followed by rapid patching repair.
Recommendations & Advice: Maintain the flatness of the steel belt. Once deformation exceeds the normal range, contact NAUT service engineers immediately for shot peening treatment.
